1940's Cleethorpes Map

from £12.00

An original, imagined watercolour painting of Cleethorpes in the 1940’s inspired by the books ‘The Seaside Girls’ by local author Tracy Baines. I’ve absolutely loved the whole process of creating this piece; researching, trawling through imagery and chatting to people on local history pages about their memories of these places has been fantastic. Even the shop fronts on Sea View Street and St. Peter’s Av are based on real shops during this period.

Imagining what Cleethorpes would have looked like throughout history has always been a bit of an obsession for me, so working to bring back some of these beautiful buildings has been fascinating.

Available framed and unframed in A5, A4 and A3.
